Rosedale's 2007 Job-Training Program has begun!
We have 24 students placed in internships in Manhattan, Westchester, and the Bronx.
Our part-time students will be going on weekly excursions to such places as Bloomberg News, Shiseido Cosmetics, and Princeton University.
Each week, we will have a posting about some element of work and a question for our Job-Training Students. This week's question concerns the salaries of your favorite t.v. characters. MSN's Career section on careerbuilder.com recently posted an article by Kate Lorenz showing the real-life salaries of fictional characters:
Pam Beesly, "The Office"--Receptionist in Scranton, PA $23,120

Question: What is your favorite character's salary? You can pick someone from movies, television, or books. Go to salary.com, CBsalary.com, or Payscale.com to see how much they would make. Be sure and take into account where they live. For example, a teacher in New York City might make more than a teacher in a small town.

out of three of my favoirte characters, only one really makes money. The other two either steal it or don't need it.
Sydney Fox from "Relic Hunter" is an archaeologist. Archeologists (in New York) make $50,902 a year.
Sandra Oh in Grays Anatomy which plays Dr.Cristina Yang is a doctor. Doctors in New York earn $ 10,522.57.
My favorite athlete is the baseball player Alex Rodriguez from the Yankees team. His contract is for $27,708,525. I'm not sure on wheter he gets this much for 5 years or another amount of time, this is espicified on his contract.
I was very interested in what a average model makes after watching Amerca's Next Top Model. An average model, in New York, makes $62,654 in a year.
In the movie "Laura," Gene Tierney plays Laura Hunt, a young and ambitious woman who starts out in an advertising agency as a secretary and soon works her way up to be the advertising director. The median salary today for an advertising director in New York is $111,532. Not too shabby.
